Takayoshi Kusumoto

Takayoshi Kusumoto
Takayoshi Kusumoto is a founder of KUSUMOTO PATENT OFFICE.  He has over twenty years experience in the practice of intellectual property law with extensive experience in undertaking Japanese and international patent, trademark, and design applications, client consultations and providing advice on patentability, patent infringement, patent validity, and trademark availability and registration.


Mr. Kusumoto is a vice head of the Intellectual Property Support Center of the Japan Patent Attorneys Association (JPAA), a patent counselor and an expert advisor of Shiga Prefectural Federation of Societies of Commerce and Industry, a counselor of the Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Shiga Prefecture, a counselor of Shiga Industrial Support Plaza, and a guest professor of University of Shiga Prefecture. He is a member of the Japanese Society of Mechanical Engineers.  He was a vice director of the Kinki Branch of Japan Patent Attorneys Association (KJPAA) in 2001.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Himeji Institute of Technology (present University of Hyogo).  Following graduation, he worked for Sumikin Precision Forge Inc. undertaking design and research in the plasticity of metals.  He moved from Sumikin Precision Forge Inc. to a patent law firm in Nagoya, where he accumulated vast experience in intellectual property law.

He was registered as a patent attorney (Registration No. 9424) in 1986.

 

Kiyoshi Nakagoshi

Kiyoshi Nakagoshi, a KUSUMOTO PATENT OFFICE associate, has handled patent prosecution matters relating to civil engineering and mechanical engineering.

Mr. Nakagoshi received his Bachelor of Science and Engineering degree from Ritsumeikan University. Upon graduation, he took a master’s course at Ritsumeikan University, receiving his master’s degree in 1999.

He was registered as a patent attorney (Registration No. 12920) in 2003.
